My Pretty Sweetheart novel Chapter 2018

A moment later, Aaron straightened his body and placed his hands into his pockets. He looked at Hendrix with a faint smile on his face. "Free for a chat?"

As he spoke, his almond-shaped eyes seemed to hint at something.

Hendrix looked at me and pondered for a moment before walking into the bathroom. "I'll see you in the study."

He then slammed the bathroom door shut.

Aaron scratched his forehead and walked out of the room.

Twenty minutes later, Hendrix came out. He had changed into his pajamas with his hair slightly wet. He then threw his towel aside before walking out of the door.

"Wait." I stopped him. "I'll go with you."

After that, I turned around and tucked the children in bed before following Hendrix out of the room.

Pushing the door of the study open, we saw Aaron seated on the sofa with a cup of coffee in his hand.

He asked for another cup of coffee upon our arrival. "Someone pour me another cup. Go easy on the milk and sugar. It was much too sweet for me."

He was being oddly vague about things and we had no idea what he was actually referring to.

I signaled to the servants outside and said, "Don't worry about it. You can leave."

Turning to shut the door, I said to Aaron, "Too much coffee is bad for your health, you should drink some tea instead."

"I'm used to it. It's hard to change habits after all." Aaron said carelessly.

Hendrix interrupted with his deep voice, "Research has proven that long term consumption of coffee can cause myocardial disorder, stomach bleeding, nerve tension and other side effects."

"Aren't you exaggerating here? Do you think it's that easy to fool me, like Aurelia?" Aaron said impatiently.

I grabbed the cup from his hand and placed it on the other side of the coffee table. "I'd much rather believe it. You're not that young anymore, do it for the sake of Emma."
