Given the development of events, both businessmen could be seen as equally fierce and ambitious. They both shared a very powerful eye contact with each other and I couldn't tell who had the upper hand.
Even so, Aaron behaved aggressively, "Since you mentioned that you knew about this, does that mean you're the one who did it?"
Despite me being at a loss, I could hear the sharp, cold tone he had in his question. I quickly asked to find out what exactly was happening, "What do you mean? Can one of you just start explaining and stop making me guess?"
Aaron suppressed his anger and explained, "This man whom you're falling head over heels for just overstepped my informants at Jarold City and sent someone to deliver a letter to Mesville. The letter said that you and the children were hoping to settle down in the country and would like to invite the elders over to talk about it. What a joke! They're planning to use them to threaten us! How despicable!"
He was so angry, he gritted his teeth.
Basically, someone was trying to use Hendrix's and my name to swindle the elders and then imprison them as hostages to threaten us.
Anyhow, the person who did this must be well prepared.
I had spent a lot of effort on this after waking up from my coma, but was only able to resolves issues within the country I was in. This person was quick to react and had even reach out to Mesville in such a short time.
If it weren't for the fact that Aaron was much more vigilant than before, we would probably have fallen into another trap.
But this time, I didn't have any doubts about Hendrix.
As I looked at Aaron, who still looked doubtful, I then stretched out my hand and held onto Hendrix, trying to express my stance, "Aaron, I believe it wasn't Hendrix, this must be a misunderstanding."
Aaron took a deep breath and looked at me with disappointment, "He admitted to everything, didn't you hear him? Arianna, wake up, you should know that love isn't everything. You've already died once, why can't you think straight?"
