As soon as Jordan said that, Aaron returned from his call and nodded at him politely.

Aaron wagged his phone at me and said with a worried look on his face, "Uncle Charles has just arrived with Mr. Moore and Madam Lawson."

After a moment of silence, I was puzzled, "Why so suddenly? Wouldn't it be tiring for them to have rushed their journey? Why didn't you stop them?"

I glanced over, waiting for Jordan's reaction. As expected, he took the bait.

Jordan interrupted with a smile, "Have your inlaws returned? What great news, we haven't seen each other in so many years. When are they arriving? Let me arrange dinner for both of our families."

"I don't think that'll be necessary." Aaron refused bluntly, "Hendrix and Wynn will be returning to Mesville with us, then we won't have to see each other anymore. I don't see the need for putting on a show for a reunion."

Although we had prepared for this, I couldn't help but gasp at Aaron's reply.

Aaron was always very up-front regardless of who he was talking to. When he refused so bluntly, things very quickly became tense and awkward. There were guests around who couldn't help but look at everything that was happening. They were probably worried about Jordan since he was the host of the event.

However, Jordan perfectly expressed his concerns confidently and calmly.

Jordan was embarrassed but smiled instead of getting angry and said, "No worries, I'm sorry for being abrupt. Aaron, you're a very outspoken and honest man, I should learn from your example. However, to show my respects, I'll have to host this meal anyhow. With that said, I'll visit when the elders have arrived and are settled down."

After that, he looked up to greet some guests that had just arrived, "My apologies, some of my friends have arrived. Please excuse me."

He then walked towards the guests that had arrived and joined in their conversation.

Aaron placed both of his hands in his pockets and stared at him. After a while, he said coldly, "Look at him, that's what we call a hypocrite. Who could've known that a person who dresses like that would be such a jerk. He would do anything to achieve his goal."
