What a schemer.
What exactly did Jordan want?
There was no time for this. They were now both opponents to us. Nathan and his wife wouldn't be any easier to deal with than Jordan.
Hendrix was extremely calm. He looked straight ahead and held my hand in his. He narrowed his eyes and said, "It doesn't matter who we deal with first. Let's thank Jordan for deciding for me."
No one probably would have expected that a reunion six years later would be like this.
When we arrived at the Marshall villa, we saw the elders sitting around the sofa with huge smiles on their faces.
Although she had seen me over a video call once before, Valerie was quite moved when she saw me. She wanted to walk over, but Pedro held her back.
Hendrix brought me over and greeted them politely, "Father, Mother, Uncle."
"Father and Mother" were directed at Valerie and Pedro. Hendrix completely ignored Nathan and
Suanne who were sitting beside them.
I imagined that things would get ugly, but unexpectedly, Nathan didn't mind it. Instead, he was in a good mood and asked us to sit down. "It's good to have you back. We'll have dinner soon. Please sit for a while."
"Where are the kids? Didn't you bring them along?" Seeing that Aurelia and Wynn weren't around, Suanne straightened herself up and glanced at the entrance.
I was trying to come up with an excuse but Hendrix spoke first. "There's no need to bring the kids into our affairs."
