I don't know why but I felt like Nathan had seen right through me.
Hendrix said that he had tried his best to make the Marshall family believe that I, a substitute, was Arianna, but I guess he failed.
Everything he said served as a very direct warning to us.
Since he was sure that I was Arianna, he was determined to get on the good side of Charles and others... they could easily threaten Hendrix and me.
Fortunately, Nathan's target wasn't our children.
Things in the living room were on the verge of getting worse, as though we were adding more fuel to the fire. It was like they were speaking ill of themselves devoid of the other's dignity.
Then the butler came over and said, "Sir, Madam, dinner is ready."
This crisis was then averted.
Each of us had a plan to ruin the other. However, it was quite ridiculous how each other withheld out anger and dined on the same table together.
This meal was extremely depressing. Hendrix and
I didn't speak to each other.
As for Valerie and the others, they had agreed that if Jordan tried to take them away by force, there was no need to resist. It would be the same for Nathan.
Nathan and his wife were doing everything perfectly. They talked one after another and both of them were experienced in business. Valerie and Pedro, naturally, weren't afraid of them, so they responded appropriately.
Finally, it was time to part ways. Valerie was holding onto my arm as we stood by the roadside. We parted ways with a fake show of sincerity and reluctance just as planned.
