With a hiss, Jennifer woke up and shook her head. She reached out and touched her forehead. Seeing the blood on her palm, she frowned and struggled to get up as she tried to chase after Evan and the others.
Hendrix went around the bed, grabbed her shoulders, and pushed her onto the bed.
Due to the impact from her previous fall, Jennifer closed her eyes and fell onto the bed, mumbling. No one knew what she was saying.
"Since you've always wanted to tear lovers apart, I will do as you wish. In this lifetime, you will never see Augustus again."
"I can assure you that I will arrange for someone to take good care of him, serve him three meals a day and let him die a natural death, but you will never find him in your lifetime."
There was no harsher punishment than to torture a person's heart instead of destroying their body.
For Jennifer to learn her mistake, the only way was to let her experience the pain of separating her from the one person she loved.
For Augustus, she had destroyed my relationship with Hendrix. She went against Nathan and paid no attention to Wynn's safety. She was crazy about love. I was sure that after all this, she wouldn't be able to sleep nor eat well for the rest of her life.
Jennifer heard Hendrix with what consciousness she had left. She pleaded weakly, "Don't... Hendrix, I was wrong... Please..."
Hendrix's eyes were dark and empty of any emotion. He stood by the bed indifferently then paused for a moment before turning around to walk towards me and Wynn.
"Let's go home."
He spoke casually as though this cruel and brutal scene had never happened.
I scanned the room with a heavy gaze and raised my hand to pat Wynn's shoulder to motion him to leave.
After Wynn left, I followed behind. Hendrix followed closely behind me whereas I wasn't even bothered to turn around to look at him a second time.
After we got into the car, I asked, "Why didn't you mention that Jennifer wanted to kidnap Wynn?"
