My Pretty Sweetheart novel Chapter 2066

After a brief pause, his gaze fell on Hendrix as he said, "Daddy, mommy is right. The dictatorial rule of fascism will be eliminated by history!"

Hendrix's face darkened, his voice was icy, "From what you're saying, you want to eliminate me, your father? Wynn Roberts?"

In my experience, when an elder calls someone by their full name, they'd better escape as soon as possible, or they would suffer a miserable end.

Wynn knew that he had offended Hendrix. With his eyebrows raised, he swiftly turned around, switched the computer on and pretended as though nothing had happened. It was as though he had never moved or said anything.

His actions were so fast that I couldn't react in time.

After another momentary pause, I burst out into a peal of laughter. He knew when to strike and when to retreat. Wynn had grown up well.

After being interrupted by him, all my anger instantly vanished. Sure enough, a child was the best source of joy for a mother.

As for Hendrix, he kept a straight face throughout the entire journey home. No one knew what he was planning.

After we had arrived home, Wynn immediately unfastened his seat belt and dashed into the house as soon as the car came to a stop.

When we entered the living room, Wynn was nowhere to be found, but Hendrix stopped in his tracks in the corridor. His sharp eyes scanned the entire room.

I read his mind and warned him, "Hendrix, if you dare to bully Wynn, you're doomed. As a father, you shouldn't be holding grudges against your children. Aren't you ashamed?"

Hendrix was amused by me. Taking his coat off, he replied, "This is a matter between us men. You wouldn't understand."

Confused, I shrugged and asked, "So, men can bully little boys? I don't understand."

"What's wrong?" Valerie asked with some concern. She thought that we were having a fight.

"It's nothing. It's about Wynn." Hendrix answered curtly to quickly end the conversation.

Shaking my head helplessly, I rolled my eyes at him once he looked away. All grown-up men acted the same, and they were all stubborn too. Men!
