Since we thought everything was over, we had not expected Freya to keep what we talked about in mind. Two hours after we arrived home, she came back with documents in her hands and announced she wanted to "be in charge" of Anne.
"Since we're family, I'll get straight to the point. Anne is perfect for the business sector. Let her return to Zuckerburg so that she can come learn business with me, and I'll sign her up for an MBA course as well. I'll be fully supportive in every project, no questions asked - on one condition, and that's because I appreciate the talent Anne has. I'm not giving anyone the chance to snatch her away. Therefore, we will have to sign a contract. It's the only way I can rest assured."
Anne was definitely not expecting this. She eyed me and Hendrix as she kept silent.
A voice came from afar. "There are so many estates of the Roberts Group waiting to be inherited. It's not even guaranteed if these little fellows can all handle them well. Now you're trying to snatch their heir away to earn money for yourself. Aren't you getting ahead of yourself?"
Tobias walked down the stairs in a set of silk pajamas. His hair was soft and fluffy. He had obviously just woken up.
I didn't expect him to still be here.
"Keep your nose out of this." Freya was unconcerned about him. He was a killjoy, and she sarcastically retorted, "Speaking of which, Mr. Hayes, your name sure has been getting around when it comes to relationship scandals ever since you've returned to Zuckerburg. You're dominating both locally and internationally. I hope your body can withstand all that pressure."
"Since when have you become so worried about me?" Tobias went downstairs as he tightened his robe around his waist. "As for whether my body can withstand all that pressure, would you like to check it out yourself?"
After the incident with Zachary, people like Tobias turned Freya off. He was known to be a frivolous one, but he had always managed to escape unscathed and clear himself of the scandals accused. With that sentence, Freya was provoked. As she was about to fire back at him, I interrupted their cross-fire. "This is getting out of hand. Can you all show me some respect by avoiding such topics, especially in front of the children?"
Tobias sat on the sofa, casually placing one of his legs on the armrest with a face of innocence, saying, "As someone who works under the table, I hate having poor relationships with others.
Besides, I adore women. She started it, so I rebuked in self-defense. I am the victim here."
Freya sneered and said sarcastically, "Then I'm afraid there are no villains in the world."
Although it did not end up peaceful, the two did not continue to be at each other's throats. All they did was exchange glances before ignoring each other.
After a while, Tobias said, "Anne, if you'd like to grow in Zuckerberg, I have a lot of great connections. Why don't you consider coming with me instead?"
