I actually managed to persuade Wynn, but after hearing Jordan’s words, he gradually frowned and looked worried.
"Wynn, look at me." I quickly patted him on the cheek to get his attention. "I said that I'll be back for dinner, and I promise, okay? Do you trust me?"
Wynn hesitated for a moment but knew that he couldn't persuade me to stay. Hence, in the end, he reluctantly nodded and said, "Okay."
He tried to reassure me by saying with a smile, "Mommy, go ahead. Come back as early as you can. Don't worry. I'll take good care of Aurelia."
"Thank you, baby." I felt so touched after hearing his words. I kissed him on the forehead. However, I had no choice but to leave him and follow Jordan.
Jordan changes his mind very often. Hence, I had to quickly put my plan into action before he changed his mind.
When we got in the car, Jordan was using WhatsApp on his phone. When he saw me coming, he quietly put it back into his pocket.
"It's not necessarily a good thing to be so protective of your child." Jordan looked in front and uttered without any expression.
In that case, did he mean that a child should be growing up in a family filled with conspiracies and follow the footsteps of the Marshall family, living a cold-blooded life and becoming an existence that could threaten the stability of society?
This reminded me of the first time when I saw Hendrix's father. He was just as talkative and arrogant.
Jordan had too much self-confidence in him that it wouldn't be easy to change his character. I had no choice but to listen to him for the time being. I was unconvinced by his words. Hence, I replied, "If you are going to continue using this arrogant character towards me, you'll never fall in love with anyone."
