It was a cold hard truth everyone should know. Those who did bad things not only wouldn't feel guilty or sad for what they did, but they also would be able to have a good night's sleep. People like Valerie and Andrea would only regret not completely killing off the person they loathed. Taking life away wouldn't make them lose sleep at night. On the contrary, they wouldn't even be bothered and would feel that the person deserved it.
The next day.
In Irvin's office.
Irvin handed me the recording from the night before and asked, "What are you going to do next?"
Watching the video of the scenes that I had personally experienced, I felt a dull pain in my chest, and I was bitter with resentment. I shifted my gaze to Irvin and said, "Can you help me to ask Aaron out for a meeting?"
He frowned and asked, "What do you want to see him for?"
Pausing the video and locking the phone screen, I answered without much emotions, "I want to let Andrea see this video unintentionally. Aaron is an expert in IT, and he's the only one I know that can do this. Besides, based on how he feels for me, I don't think he'll ever make peace with the Moore family if he saw this video."
His brows knitted tightly together, and his face darkened, Irvin pointed out, "Arianna, you've changed. You'll do anything to achieve what you want now, right?"
Amused, I looked upwards at him and asked, "Are you saying that I'm manipulating Aaron because he has feelings for me?"
Irvin scowled. Knowing that he was unhappy, I continued, "Irvin, haven't you noticed that I'm also taking advantage of how you feel for me to take revenge?"
With mixed feelings, he sighed softly and said, "I know you're upset, but..."
"Do you still want to help me?" I cut his short, not wanting to listen to what he was going to say next. I had once been good-natured and benign, but what happened to me was far too tormenting for me to just let it go. I was no saint. I couldn't still keep someone in my prayers when they stabbed me.
Irvin gazed at me for a long time. Then, he finally nodded and said, "I'll help you do whatever you want. After all, I'm doing these things willingly. But I hope you won't regret it in the future."
