My Pretty Sweetheart novel Chapter 335

He frowned slightly and glanced sideways at Valerie. His voice was a little low. "When did you become so ruthless that you can bear hurting a child?"

Valerie felt wronged. She retorted, "Pedro, do you know how Andrea lived after returning to the city? My heart breaks for my daughter!"

"Nonsense!" Pedro was a little angry. "You have spoiled her rotten. You will be the cause of Andrea's downfall eventually."

Valerie lowered her head, her eyes red and watery. "We have done her wrong all these years."

Pedro sighed. His gaze fell on me as he said, "Miss Reid, there's no point crying over spilt milk. Please put your conditions forward, and we'll try our best to compensate you for the damage we caused."

This couple really was something else. One was a murder while the other used money as a problem-solver. What an amazing pair this two made.

I straightened my back and looked at the two. "How sincere of you two. I don't care about money or power. You know that I don't lack

any of them. How about this? In Buddhism, what goes around, comes around - such is the belief in karma which posits that....a life for a life. Miss Burton was going to give birth anyway. Why not compensate for my child's life with hers? The two children can also have each other's company on their way to the netherworld!"

"Arianna, you're crossing the line!" Valerie's face turned red. "Do you really think that you are powerful just because you have a few big shots around you? Let me tell you. You're still too young."

I smiled faintly, but I was not angry. I nodded, "You're right. I know that I am still young, which means that I still have a long way to go!"

"You're a smart person, Miss Reid. Do you think it's worth it to make everyone unhappy and ruin your future for a child?" This was clearly a threat.

I laughed and said, "Yes, it is completely worth it! Alright, you guys have fun chatting. I'll take my leave first." Looking at Valerie, I smiled radiantly. "I'll be seeing you around, Mrs. Lawson."
