My Pretty Sweetheart novel Chapter 616

The sky was foggy outside. I really couldn't be alone looking at such an oppressing scene. It was too easy to feel depressed.

After washing up, I grabbed an umbrella and left the house.

The misty Ucrebury was very beautiful like an oil painting. As I passed by Roberts Group, there were already big changes.

The changes were shocking enough in these four years. The office building had been renovated and new luxurious buildings had been built around it. The surrounding shopping malls were numerous and it was likely that it had become the center of the city.

I stood there quietly for a while. After four years, I was back here again. However, I was in a different state of mind.

It was still early in the morning. I was sitting at the square, looking at the people walking around. Some of them were lovers talking, hand in hand, while some were old people holding onto each other for a walk. It was as if time flew by.

When Hendrix sat beside me, I was startled for a moment. Seeing the smile on his face, I couldn't help but ask, "Weren't you in Jarold City?"

He smiled, "I thought you were still in Hovell, but you have already returned to Ucrebury. Why didn't you tell me?"

I leaned my head on his shoulder. I said softly, "I was going to tell you, but I thought you were in Jarold City, so I thought to call you after I arrived at Jarold City."

He nodded. His arms wrapped around me, "You have to let me know that you are safe, no matter where you are."

I nodded. As we looked at the crowd of people coming and going, I couldn't help but ask, "How did you find this place?"

He smiled, "Take a guess?"

I shook my head. I couldn't guess. I glanced up at him with a warm light in my eyes, "Maybe it's fate!"

"Yes!" He nodded and gently kissed me on the forehead.

The people on the street were mottled and messy while the falling rain was gentle. Looking into each others' eyes, I was surprised by the kiss that came next.

The kiss was urgent, but gentle and long. I could hear the sound of his breath. Perhaps the passersby were surprised too.

Perhaps someone recognized Hendrix. After what seemed to be an eternity, he pulled away. Although no one was surrounding me, passersby stopped and stared at me. Some seemed to be curious about me while some were surprised at the same time.

Someone took a photo of him on the phone. They must have recognized Hendrix.

I glared up at him and my face was burning hot. "It's all your fault I'm being watched like a monkey."
