I glared at him with a smile. "Your hair and tie are a mess."
I raised my hand to help him fix his tousled hair and straightened his tie.
He smiled. "If you need anything, look for Evan. Josiah is preparing to go to Hanlusia City. The handover process is a little complex, so it'll take some time."
I nodded, then nudged him to go on ahead.
He didn't say much because he was rushing for his meeting. After reading for a little while, I got bored.
There were sounds of a quarrel from the outside. I couldn't help but feel curious and got up to take a look.
It was Sierra, whom I hadn't seen in a long time. Perhaps because it had been a long while since we last met; she looked somewhat different from how I remembered her. Her hair was messy, her skin sallow and haggard. She still wore branded clothes, but they looked cheap on her now.
Two female secretaries stopped her outside the door. "Miss Noland, you don't have an appointment to see Mr. Roberts. I'm sorry, but we can't let you in."
Sierra couldn't care less about how she looked. Even though two secretaries blocked her, she did not give up. Her voice was a little hoarse as she said, "Go tell Hendrix that I want to see him."
Causing a commotion was not the best way to go. After all, this was a huge company. Both secretaries still had matters to attend to.
But I shouldn't intervene. Evan had just gone out, I couldn't understand what was going on at the moment.
After some hesitation, I decided to turn around and go back into the office.
"Arianna, stop right there!" I had barely taken a step when she called out to me.
