My Pretty Sweetheart novel Chapter 676

Afternoon came. If it wasn't for Evan's phone call informing that the Roberts Group's stocks had plummeted, perhaps Hendrix would still be slacking around with me.

At the dining table, he didn't show any signs of anxiety and kept me company during breakfast. He said dotingly, "Your exams are coming up. If you feel nervous, why don't I write a recommendation letter for you?"

I forgot that he graduated years ago as an outstanding alumnus of Jarold University, and as a successful member of society, he had made countless donations to the university.

I shook my head and smiled, but deep down, I was worried about the Roberts Group. In the end, I couldn't hold it in and said, "The Roberts Group's stocks have plummeted, there's been a huge loss. You..."

"Don't worry!" He smiled. "I know what I'm doing."

That was true. He had been managing the Roberts Group business for so many years and he had done it all with ease. This was just a one-time failure, it wouldn't cripple him.

When Evan arrived, Hendrix was carefully feeding me porridge. As our actions were too intimate, it caused the initially panicked Evan to look slightly embarrassed.

Hendrix didn't seem to mind at all and took a napkin to wipe the corner of my mouth. He got up and looked towards Evan, saying, "Irvin's behind this; his objective is just to keep me occupied. He doesn't intend to shift the stock market, just follow the standard procedure to handle this matter. There's no need to worry."

Evan nodded and did not say anything more. He took a glance at me and left.

I laid on the sofa, hugging the pillow close to my chest. Looking towards Hendrix, I said, "Evan really has the capability to handle everything independently."

He nodded and didn't say anything else. He walked to my side and held me up. Both of us squeezed onto the couch.

Josiah didn't come by the villa again, and neither did Nerissa.
