I paused, then replied, "That's great! I'll probably be able to see the both of you more often."
He nodded. "Yes, that's why if you've got nothing to do, you should come visit."
We chatted idly into the afternoon. I initially planned to ask him to stay for lunch, but Hendrix had already booked a table for us at the restaurant, so we didn't bother going through the hassle.
The restaurant was filled with people. Hendrix had let me rest in the villa for a week. He drove Anne to and fro every day, not letting me be in contact with any outsiders. The days were peaceful and everything felt fine.
Unexpectedly, Aaron and Yana also joined us for lunch. I hadn't seen them in almost a month; Yana's belly had grown much bigger, and her face appeared slightly gaunt.
After meeting her a few times, I came to like this girl. She was quiet, elegant, gentle, and tactful. Such a woman was probably every man's dream wife.
If Aaron stayed with her, their days would probably be blissful.
When she saw me, she held her belly to get up and greet me. I quickly stepped forward to support her. I couldn't help but laugh, "You don't have to be so polite with me. You're pregnant, every move you make will tire you."
She smiled and got me to sit on the chair, then said in a gentle voice, "I'm only seven months in. It's alright."
I smiled. I sensed Aaron looking at me as he frowned and said, "How'd you end up losing weight again?"
As soon as he finished speaking, his sharp gaze fell on Hendrix. He obviously blamed Hendrix for not taking good care of me.
Hendrix wasn't angry. He stretched out his hand to hold me, his eyes overflowing with tenderness as he said, "You've indeed gotten thinner."
I laughed and reflexively turned towards Aaron. "I told you, I'd look nicer if I were slimmer. And you're one to talk! How could you let Yana get so skinny? She's pregnant, you know!"
He raised his brows then briskly glanced at Yana without saying a thing.
