"Get Aaron to answer the phone," I said coldly.
After a moment of silence, the person on the phone asked, "Are you Miss Reid?"
I puckered my lips, already tainted with anger. I repeated, "Get Aaron to answer the phone."
She came to realize that I was angry and was stunned by that, adding, "Miss Reid, Mr. Aaron is taking a bath. I will ask him to call you back later, is that okay?"
I was so angry that I threw the phone immediately without even hanging up the phone.
The phone was smash- resistant. It fell to the ground, bounced a few times before it finally laid there unmoving. Only the screen was broken.
Hendrix did not speak. He got up and picked up the phone. After looking at it, he took out the sim card and threw the phone away.
He dialled Evan's number with his phone. It did not take long for Evan to come over with a new mobile phone.
I sat on the chair in the hallway, relaxing for a while which helped immensely in calming me down.
He handed me the phone, looked up at the door of the emergency room and asked, "Are you sleepy?"
It was already one in the morning.
I shook my head, "I'm not tired!"
After a moment of silence, he pulled me towards him and said, "Please promise me that you will not let anyone affect your emotions, alright?"
I also knew that I should not be angry because of others, but...
"I can't control myself. No matter how bad Yana is, Aaron did get her pregnant. This child is his. How can he fool around with another woman at a time like this? I..."
Charles came in a hurry, spotting us from afar. He hastily approached us and when noticed that Aaron wasn't around, he frowned. "Where's your brother?"
"He's dead!" I spat. My anger had not subsided yet.
