I frowned and asked, "What video?"
"Madam?" Evan was surprised to find that I had answered the phone instead of Hendrix.
He said after a pause, "Madam, my apologies."
"He's busy, so he can't come to the phone right now," I replied, not forcing him to answer my previous question. "Evan, there's always a line we shouldn't cross. I can't tell Hendrix what to do, but you've been with him for years. You should know better than me what consequences his impulsiveness brings. People in business should avoid pushing things too far. He was able to survive and thrive in Jarold City for the past four years not only because of his ability, but it's also because of the recognition of all the big players in the business industry."
There were many wars to fight in in the business world. However, it went unsaid that even ruthlessness should have its limits. Otherwise, any allies who witnessed such cruelty would be cautious of one, concerned that they may one day be treated the same way.
Evan was silent for a moment, then said, "Thank you for the reminder, Madam."
I felt slightly dazed after ending the call. Hendrix's anger began after Freya's wedding banquet.
Why would Hendrix be so angry with Irvin? Why did he want to bring him down so quickly and so deliberately?
An hour later, Hendrix came out of the hospital with a gloomy face. His emotions were hard to read.
When he saw me, he gave me a small smile and asked, "Have you been waiting long?"
I shook my head and reached out to hold him, "Does it hurt?"
I heard the procedure was painful.
He smiled cheekily, "If I say it hurt, what will you do?"
I lowered my eyes and kissed him on the lips, "Will this make it okay?" I brimmed.
At the same time, the doctor entered and saw us. He coughed, "You need to come back for a checkup in a week. Please refrain from any intimate activities as it will slow the recovery process down."
"Thank you, doctor." I was embarrassed as I didn't expect to be seen.
We stayed in the hospital for an hour. We left once the pain subsided.
