My Pretty Sweetheart novel Chapter 759

As Hendrix glared at Andrea while she sat on the ground dispirited, he barked, "I can give you all the money you want for Casper's sake, but I will come after you for hurting my wife today. Since you brought a knife in, this can be considered a case of attempted robbery for which you'd serve at least three years of jail time. Of course, you're free to take the money and leave Jarold City. Do not show up in front of us again."

Hendrix was ruthless.

Andrea was already done for. She sat paralyzed on the floor, unable to make a single movement.

Evan came with the police. Though there were no surveillance cameras in the villa, Andrea was holding a knife in her hand. If she was reported under the pretense of attempted robbery, with Hendrix's capability, she would definitely be facing jail time.

However, Hendrix kept silent while the police brought Andrea away to interrogate her.

In the car.

Hendrix did not speak. I looked out of the car window blankly. When did Hendrix arrive, and how much exactly did he hear?

I suddenly remembered the heartless things Hendrix told Andrea. He said that she was free to give, but wanting was out of the question.

Yes, that was right. Asking for love was cheap.

The car stopped by the side of the road. I looked at him, surprised. "But we're not home yet."

He nodded and got out of the car. The slender figure walked along the other intersection of the street.

When he came back, he was holding a box of desserts in his hand. He handed it to me and said gently, "Try it!"

My first instinct wasn't to take it. I just absentmindedly stared at the box filled with delicate desserts.

He caressed my hand, and said in a low voice, "You can scold me, but you can't stay quiet."

His hand was warm, or perhaps mine was too cold.

Looking at him, I said with a hoarse voice, "She did not try to rob nor break into the house. I was the one who brought her there."

He started the car, put the dessert in my hand, and nodded, "I know."
