I could not find any flowers at home, so a broccoli would do.
Evan held the broccoli in his hand, trying not to laugh. He hesitated for a while before leaving.
When he left, I went back to the bedroom to look for my clothes, tidied up, and went out.
I agreed to meet Yana at noon. I arrived early, so I simply entered a restaurant to wait for her.
After all, I'd appeared on TV several times. When the waiter came forward to greet me, he recognized me. He was obviously surprised to see me, but quickly collected himself and flashed me a friendly smile.
He greeted me politely, "Miss, would you like to order now?"
I smiled faintly, shook my head, and said, "Please get me a glass of water. I'll order when my friend arrives. Thank you."
The waiter brought a cup of warm water over with a smile. "Feel free to call me if you need anything."
I nodded and thanked him.
He turned and walked to the bar counter, whispering to his colleague as he glanced in my direction from time to time. I was clearly the topic of discussion.
I pursed my lips and took a sip of the water. I looked out the window and thought about how Hendrix tried his best to destroy the Granger Group. The Granger Group was now the centre of everyone's focus as it was treading on thin ice on the market, and was on the verge of collapsing.
Irvin's heart was filled with hatred. Although I knew it, I could not say anything to Hendrix. The pain in him from many years ago manifested as days went by, and he had gradually turned into a menace. He was now nothing but an embodiment of his resentment and pain. I had hoped that he could let go, but I had no right to blame him.
Life was unpredictable, and no one had the right to say what was right from wrong. What Andrea felt for Hendrix didn't matter; whether it was love or obsession - she was now at a point of no return.
Some people were meant to be passersby. No matter how infatuated they were or how strongly they felt, all that was useless. Letting go was the best form of comfort.
Before I knew it, I had finished my cup of water, but Yana was still nowhere to be found. It was already past twelve noon.
