There were a lot of chatter going on. I looked at Rowane, who was in Hendrix's arms and thought that the two of them did actually fit each other well.
Some said marriages that were well- matched could last for a long time. Thinking about it, Hendrix and I seemed to be different by a large margin.
While I was in a daze, I suddenly saw the grim face of Valerie. She pulled Rowane away from Hendrix's arms and said, "The ambulance should be here. Please ask a hotel paramedic to help send her to the hospital."
Valerie was definitely not someone who liked to poke her nose in someone else's business, but she had suddenly rushed out of nowhere and pulled Hendrix and Rowane apart. This was a clear warning for the two.
Fortunately, the hotel staff were quick enough to carry Rowane out.
The annual meeting continued.
Valerie asked to have a moment with Hendrix. It looked like she had something to say to him.
I found somewhere to sit and continued eating until I felt a little sleepy.
After waiting for a bit, Hendrix came back.
When he saw me yawning, he smiled. "Are you sleepy?"
I nodded. Looking at the crowded hall, I asked, "Is it going to be long before we return home?"
He smiled and stretched out his hand towards me, "We can go home soon."
Then, he took my hand and handed me a glass of milk before saying, "Let's go. I'll take you to meet some people."
He brought me to see those that Roberts Group had business dealings with - a circle mostly comprised of successful people in Jarold City.
Hendrix was not a talkative person. In almost all his introductions, he only stated, "This is my wife, Arianna."
After the introductions, we met Eugene in the crowd when we were ready to go back.
