Theo patted Olivia on the back and whispered, "I don't want the rest to know."
"Is it worth it?" Olivia asked, choking in tears.
"Actually, I'm not from the Skyes," Theo said with complicated emotions.
"So, you were willing to trade the lives of everyone in the Skye family for Nash and his group?" Olivia asked hoarsely.
Since Olivia married Theo, everyone in the family treated her as their own child. Theo's parents regarded her as their biological daughter. Theo's grandfather was closer to her than to his own granddaughter.
It was difficult for her to accept the reality that the Skyes were exterminated.
"Anyone can die but not Nash. If possible, I'm willing to die in the Skyes' place, and I'm willing to die in Nash's place too! I feel more devastated than you that the Skyes have been destroyed!"
It was clear from his expression how much pain he was in, and his face was drenched with tears.
"I don't understand… I truly don't understand..." Olivia threw herself into Theo's arms and cried loudly.
Although she never wanted anything to happen to Nash’s family, she really did not understand how Theo could use the lives of more than 80 members of the Skyes to help Nash.
Theo closed his eyes with a look of pain on his face and murmured softly, "The Kleins aren't scary. The one to be feared is the Church of the Netherworld. Only Nash can fight them!"
…
At the Capiton branch of Empire Hotel, Nash sat on the balcony chair in a daze after ending the phone call.
Maverick handed Nash a cigarette. "Nash, my condolences!"
Nash lit the cigarette and took a long drag.
Gabriel stepped forward and said, "Gerolt has also broken through to the Profound Oriental Realm. The Kleins now have four experts at the Profound Oriental Realm!"
Maverick's hand trembled as he held the cigarette. "Who's the other person?"
Gabriel shook his head and said, "I'm not sure. My grandfather revealed this news to me. Matters regarding experts at the Profound Oriental Realm are not something we can inquire about!"
"Damn, that's a big deal!"
Maverick threw the newly lit cigarette on the ground and stamped it out.
