It was not that Zaafea did not want to help. Rather, this was a tribulation that Clint and Nash had to face on their own. He had not given them any hints this time as he knew that helping Clint awaken his abilities was an act against the natural order.
If he helped them any further, not only would he be affected, but Clint and Nash would also face significant consequences. Therefore, Zaafea refrained from interfering.
He trusted Nash's power to resolve this crisis, but still, things were uncertain. Whether and how the two would overcome this tribulation was still to be determined by the situation.
By now, Deluca's body was completely gripped by demonic energy that transformed him into a demonic entity.
"Nash! Mr. Clint! His demonic energy has peaked. Quick, attack him with true energy!" Zaafea yelled from where he was outside.
Hearing this, the two immediately adjusted their positions.
"How are you holding up?" Clint asked as he helped Nash up.
Nash wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth with the back of his hand and replied, "I'm fine. Now, it's my turn to support you!"
Their strategy was to engage in a battle of attrition by switching between attacking and supporting roles to allow each other time to recover.
With that, Clint began to form hand seals again. "Time Gun!"
A handgun emitting blue flames materialized in Clint's hand. He then conjured a tempered saber out of thin air.
"Distorted Time, Clever Theft."
Using Distorted Time, Clint summoned both of the weapons from another timeline.
Clint fired a shot at Deluca, who instantly appeared behind him. Unperturbed, he twisted the gun and fired another shot behind him, the bullet transforming into a rift-like space distortion. When Deluca punched through it, his hand emerged where the first bullet was.
Deluca quickly pulled his hand back. At that, Clint slashed the saber toward Deluca, cutting through the demonic energy and actually injuring him.
Realizing he was hurt, Deluca withdrew and used his demonic energy to heal the wound.
