"Deluca, that's his name, isn't it?" Zaafea looked coldly at the sect master and asked.
"Don't worry, I haven't divulged all of your secrets. I only extracted some relatively important ones. I've kept your part confidential for now," Zaafea continued.
Hearing this, Dawson was overcome with tears. "Thank you so much."
Zaafea gestured for Dawson to rise. "Enough, enough. It doesn't matter anymore. But can you tell me about the situation regarding the Church of the Netherworld and the North Territory's Warden?"
Dawson hesitated visibly. "About that..."
"What? Do you think you have a choice?" Zaafea's voice turned cold as dark energy surged within him.
Sensing the chill, Dawson kneeled once more.
"No! No, it's not that! It's just..." Dawson stammered.
Seeing his hesitation, Zaafea approached Deluca and simply said, "Fine, I'll waste no more words on you." He then struck Deluca with a burst of dark energy. Deluca stood up like a puppet that was devoid of life.
When Dawson saw this, he shouted agitatedly, "Deluca! W-What are you going to do?"
Zaafea placed his arm around Deluca's shoulder.
"You were just saying how you'd do anything to save him, yet now, you refuse to answer my question. You're making it difficult for me," Zaafea said coldly, his wrist tightening around Deluca's neck as he leaned in threateningly.
"I told you, you're not in the position to negotiate with me. Be grateful that I can save him. Do you think your life is important? You're just a pawn to them, and I'm running out of patience. Not telling Clint and Nash the truth is the last straw for me. Try wasting another word with me and see what happens..."
Dawson was terrified. Sweat was pouring down his face, and his body was trembling. He was about to speak when suddenly, a lotus flower bloomed in his mouth.
As if Dawson was simply a source of nourishment, the lotus flower rapidly absorbed the energy in his body.
Zaafea made no move to stop it. Instead, he turned his head toward the darkness.
At that moment, a figure in black entered.
