A Widow's Poison A Wife's Rebellion novel Chapter 754

"Did you really fail to hide a single cent?" Annika demanded, her disgust deepening as she glared at Darleen.

At this point, she didn't care about anything except whether there was any cash left. When Darleen weakly shook her head and whispered, "No," the older woman nearly lost her mind.

Not a single property. Not a single dollar. "How exactly do you expect us to survive?" Annika screamed. "How can you be so utterly useless? You lived in that house—you couldn't stash away some jewelry? Something?"

"She brought over twenty people with her!" Darleen finally exploded. "We weren't even allowed upstairs. How was I supposed to hide anything?"

She was done being the scapegoat. Was it entirely her fault they had nothing left? The rest of them hadn't saved a dime either. Why was she shouldering the blame alone?

"You—"

"Mom, I know you're furious, but the Yelchins didn't end up like this solely because of me."

"If not you, then who?" Annika roared. "You killed her mother! This entire catastrophe is happening because of you!"

The words echoed violently in the small room.

"Yes, I'm the reason her mother died!" Darleen cried, her voice cracking. "But everything I did, I did for this family!"

If it hadn't been for the Yelchin empire... if it hadn't been to ensure Harley secured his grip on the company, she would never have committed such unspeakable acts. She had dirtied her hands for them. How could they put this all on her?

Annika glared at her with pure venom.

"Harley, say something!" Darleen begged, turning to her husband. Annika had been screaming at her for half an hour and he hadn't spoken a single word. Was he just going to stand there?
