A Widow's Poison A Wife's Rebellion novel Chapter 766

"You ruined me and wanted me to live as a beggar for the rest of my life. Well, keep dreaming," Brinley spat. "I am going to live well. I'm going to live fabulously. So what if you won this round? I'm going to use my very existence as a constant reminder that you were a loser too. I witnessed how they treated you like absolute trash with my own eyes."

With every word, Brinley's voice grew more vicious, her hatred entirely unfiltered. She genuinely despised Starla. Before finding this new safety net, she had been desperate for survival. But now that she had it? All she could think about was dragging Starla back down and crushing her.

Starla’s expression darkened at the phrase "treated like absolute trash."

Was that really how people saw her marriage to Fairfax? A pathetic, groveling existence?

"I'm not letting this go!" Brinley snarled. "Everything you've put me through recently, I am going to return to you, piece by piece!"

She sounded like she wanted to rip Starla apart with her bare teeth.

"It sounds like whoever is backing you has some real power," Starla noted smoothly. For Brinley to act this bold, her new benefactor had to have serious leverage. Otherwise, she wouldn't dare run her mouth.

"I'm not useless trash like Darleen and Xenia. Just you wait!"

Without giving Starla a chance to reply, Brinley hung up. Making threats like that meant she was actively plotting her next attack.

Starla glared at her phone. This woman was completely insufferable. Having her morning ruined like this meant she wouldn't be able to sleep tonight unless she dragged Brinley's mysterious backer into the light.

Storming out of her room, she spotted Garret. "Find out who helped her, right now! I want it fast."

She couldn't wait another day. She was seething.

"Understood," Garret said, noting her fury. "I've already set things in motion."
