Abandoned by All I Took It All Back novel Chapter 253

Seven in the evening.

Maggie, Melody Leigh, and Wendy Clifford also arrived at the postnatal retreat.

The atmosphere immediately became lively.

Maggie and the others hadn't seen Summer in a long time, and the group was soon deep in cheerful conversation.

Summer was about to release a new book and was just finishing it up. She looked fantastic.

She seemed to have returned to her former radiant self, glowing from within.

After about half an hour, Easton took the group out for dinner.

Once they left, the room fell quiet. Grace brought over a bowl of chicken soup. "I know you wanted to go too, but let's just be patient. You'll be out of recovery in about ten more days."

Janina gazed wistfully in the direction they had gone. She really wanted to go out and have fun.

She wanted to eat spicy food, barbecue, ice cream…

She missed them so much.

She took the chicken soup. "Okay, I know, Mom."

After her meal, Grace walked with Janina in the garden downstairs. By the time they returned to the postnatal retreat, it was already nine o'clock.

Seeing Janina sitting by the French windows with no intention of sleeping, Grace brought over a shawl and draped it over her daughter's shoulders.

"It's hot without the AC, but I'm afraid you'll catch a chill with it on. Protect your body now, and you'll feel bad when you're older."

Janina wanted to laugh. When people get old, their bodies naturally decline. Some blame headaches and joint pain on not recovering properly after childbirth.

But those ailments had little to do with postpartum recovery. If it were truly a bad recovery, the problems wouldn't wait until old age to appear.

Still, Janina listened to her mother and wrapped the shawl around her shoulders.

The night view from the window was beautiful. With her mother by her side and the care of her family and friends, her heart felt warm.

Now that she had a quiet moment, she couldn't stop thinking about her two children.

Late into the night.

Fragments of the past flashed through Janina's mind like a movie reel.
