Abandoned by All I Took It All Back novel Chapter 374

A portly, middle-aged man shouted as he shoved a medical report into West’s hands.

West thought that if the man’s illness was due to food poisoning, he probably couldn’t evade responsibility, regardless of whether The Tasting Room was the cause. Given the current storm of bad press, the restaurant was in a very vulnerable position.

But when he looked at the report, it was a diagnosis for late-stage stomach cancer.

West was speechless but maintained his patience as he explained.

“Sir, what does your stomach cancer have to do with The Tasting Room? You can't possibly get stomach cancer from eating out a few times. This is due to your own health issues.”

Hearing West shift the blame, the man’s face flushed with anger, and his voice grew louder.

“Bullshit! If your kitchen wasn't so filthy, how would I have gotten this disease? It's your fault! I don't care, pay up!”

Janina arrived just in time to witness this scene.

“West, call the police,” she said, walking toward them.

“Already did.” West glanced at the front desk manager. “Keep them calm until the police arrive.”

“Let’s go upstairs to talk,” West said to Janina, his expression grim.

“Okay.”

Seeing West about to leave, the overweight man, afraid he wouldn't get his money, immediately rushed to block his path.

“You can’t go! You haven’t paid me yet. There’s no way you’re running away.”

Was he kidding? There was no way the man was leaving without extorting at least a few hundred thousand.

He had been feeling unwell for a while and had gone for a check-up. The results came back yesterday, and he was so shocked he nearly collapsed. He had stomach cancer.

As long as he stayed put at The Tasting Room, West would have to deal with him eventually.

Without another word, the man turned and followed the manager to a table in the main hall to wait for the police.

Once the siblings were upstairs, West finally let down his guard and immediately pleaded his case to his sister.

“The photos online are pure slander and fabrication. We clean the kitchen thoroughly every single day before anyone goes home. Everything was fine last night when we closed. How could it turn into that overnight?”

West was exasperated. He still couldn't figure out how those photos were taken.

Listening to her brother’s complaint, Janina also found it strange.

The Tasting Room had been open for less than a year, but the kitchen in the photos looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years, not to mention the rats and cockroaches.

And with so many employees in the kitchen, did no one see anything? How could it have been so conveniently filmed?
