Abandoned by All I Took It All Back novel Chapter 406

Just as Wendy Clifford passed by West, he grabbed her wrist.

The heat of his body radiated through her skin.

Wendy panicked and struggled, but West held her tight in his arms.

"Maggie, come up here, quick!"

Wendy screamed at the top of her lungs.

Downstairs, Maggie heard Wendy’s cry for help and assumed she was in danger. She bounded up the stairs, taking them three at a time.

She was met with the sight of West clinging to Wendy like a man possessed.

It was obvious to anyone what he intended to do.

Without a second thought, Maggie chopped him on the back of the neck, and West crumpled to the floor.

"Wendy, are you okay? Did he hurt you?"

Maggie ignored West, stepping right over his body to anxiously look Wendy up and down.

Wendy was a bit shaken. West had looked terrifying just moments before. She shook her head.

"I'm fine. Thank goodness you got here in time."

"What on earth is going on..."

Maggie glared at West's unconscious form. If he wasn't Nina's brother, she would have seriously hurt him.

"West was drugged. I think Marjorie did it. The drug had taken effect when I came in, but he was trying so hard to control himself. He even cut himself with a dagger..."

Wendy quickly recounted what had happened, naturally omitting the most sensitive details.

Maggie's face turned pale with rage.

"Drugging him! Marjorie is absolutely disgusting."

As Wendy and Maggie went downstairs, they saw the police escorting Marjorie out.

A crazed smile was still plastered on her face.

"None of you will have a good end, hahaha! But it was worth it! All those infected men deserve to die!"

The depravity of her actions shocked the public. Someone found out where Marjorie lived, and people showed up to splash paint on her door and scrawl threats on the walls.

Abigail was too terrified to go home.

With her daughter involved in such a scandal, Abigail spent her days in tears. She couldn't return home, and her friends and relatives all distanced themselves, afraid she might also be carrying the virus.

Abigail had a mental breakdown. She started wrapping herself up from head to toe whenever she went out, too afraid to show her face, living every day in a state of constant fear.

A viral online post summed up the grim lesson learned from the Marjorie affair:

"Don't ever think you're so charming that a beautiful woman (or a handsome man) has fallen for you. You never know what evil lurks beneath a pretty surface."

"Society is full of real-life karma, and the news reports it every day. Yet, those consumed by desire refuse to change, indulging their every whim. Many men with wives at home still seek thrills elsewhere. A moment of pleasure can end up destroying their own lives and their families'. So many families are torn apart, so many lives ruined, all because of reckless behavior."

"You must hold onto your integrity and your principles. Don't blindly trust others or do things you can't undo. What goes around, comes around; it's just a matter of time. And never believe there's such a thing as a free lunch."

"Remember this."

"Always."
