Abandoned by All I Took It All Back novel Chapter 492

“Oh, my sincerest apologies.” Nolan pulled out a tissue and casually wiped his mouth, his eyes showing not a hint of remorse.

He slowly straightened his down jacket, looking at the disheveled woman across from him.

“Miss Wallace, you’re so passionate. I’m afraid my… colder disposition can’t quite handle it. What to do? Oh well, nothing to be done!”

When Leila looked up, she was met with Nolan’s mocking, half-smiling gaze.

In that moment, she knew she had been played by this man.

The others heard Leila’s scream and came running. They saw her bangs dripping wet and her makeup smudged.

Grace immediately guessed that Nolan must have provoked her.

“Miss Wallace, what happened? Quick, go warm up by the fire.” Then, she shot Nolan a glare. “Nolan, what is wrong with you?”

She had been talking with the matchmaker and hadn't noticed what was happening over here.

Seeing that his mother had the wrong idea, Nolan put on an innocent face. “Mom, I was just trying to make a lasting impression on Miss Wallace!”

Leila wiped the water from her face, trembling with rage. She couldn’t hold back any longer. She stood up, her voice icy. “It seems we’re not a match. Not at all.”

Just a lanky fool, and a dim-witted one at that.

What was the use of being handsome?

Leila stormed out.

The matchmaker saw this and her heart sank. This deal was off!

“Miss Wallace, wait for me!” Without even a chance to say goodbye to Grace, the matchmaker rushed after her.

Nolan watched Leila’s retreating figure, let out a long sigh of relief, and sat back down. “Finally gone. That woman has a thicker skin than I do. Stop setting me up on these dates. Next time something like this comes up, someone else can go. I’m not doing it.”

The matchmaker announced that she would bring another young woman the next morning. This one was a successful career woman with a great family background and good looks.

This time, the date was for West, and the woman had specifically asked the matchmaker to set her up with him.

West resisted. The Tasting Room had just opened a new branch, and he had no time for dating.

But his protests were futile.

When Grace heard that the woman was coming specifically for West, she was as happy as if she were already looking at her daughter-in-law.

She momentarily forgot about Nolan’s disastrous dates.

You could never predict matters of fate. If the two of them hit it off, maybe West would be just like his older brother, and the Holt family would have a double celebration this year.

Grace and Ethan were already looking forward to meeting the woman who would be seeing West tomorrow.
