Wendy stared at the screen, her expression turning icy. “That’s Jamie Tanya. The colleague who reported me.”

Before the New Year, when Wendy was being harassed online, someone had also reported her for selling company secrets. The company later investigated and found that the informant was Jamie.

She and Jamie worked in different departments and had almost no professional interaction. To this day, Wendy still didn't understand why Jamie had reported her.

And for him to be meeting secretly with the person who reported you while you’re in the hospital… that doesn’t add up.”

They had only caught a few disjointed sentences, which didn't prove much on their own.

But it was clear from their conversation that Finch and Jamie were familiar with each other.

Just as Wendy was steeling herself to confront Finch, she received a text from Jamie, asking to meet.

Wendy felt both conflicted and uneasy about the invitation.

She showed the message to her friends. “What does she want? Why is she asking to see me? Do you think it’s some kind of trap?”

“Agree to see her,” Maggie advised. “But just in case, put a voice recorder in your bag.”

Wendy's wound was still healing, so she couldn't go far. They agreed to meet in the stairwell of her hospital floor—the same place Finch and Jamie had met.

Rounding the corner of the hallway, they saw Jamie sitting on the steps.
