After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan) novel Chapter 1065

"Yes, I'm jealous of her!" Natalie yelled. "I have more because I was born into the Gates family! Who the hell is Isabella? Why does she get to have so much?"

"If it weren't for her, Ethan would still spoil me. He would put up with all my flaws and love me forever."

"Ethan gave her too much. If she hadn't come along, he would have stayed single for me his entire life. Everything he owned, millions of dollars, he would have given it to me if I just asked."

"But ever since she married him, he changed. And after the divorce, he only fell harder for her! He even said she was the only woman he'd ever marry."

"What about me? I was his childhood friend. What did that mean to him? He gave her millions of dollars! All the gifts he's ever given me combined wouldn't equal a fraction of that. Why does she deserve it?"

"She's a fatherless nobody from a small town! She only got into the Lane family because her mother had a pretty face. She enjoyed all their wealth. If I hadn't driven a wedge between her and Jordan, he would have treated her like a real sister."

"If she had just dated Harold from the start, I wouldn't have cared. I might have even been happy for her. But she married Ethan. He was mine. He grew up protecting me."

"She thinks she can just steal what's mine and toss it away when she's bored? I refuse to accept that! I just can't stand it!"

Adelina swung again, missing her daughter's face and smacking her arm instead.

She stood up, pointing a trembling finger at Natalie. It took her a moment to catch her breath. "How did I raise such a lunatic? You couldn't let it go, and now look at the price you've paid. Did you ever stop to calculate the cost?"

"You haven't just lost Ethan's affection. You've lost Jordan's love, your secure marriage, and your reputation. Look at what you've done. You've dragged your own name through the mud."
