After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan) novel Chapter 930

“Exactly, Isabella. You’ve hit the jackpot. Shouldn’t you help the whole family get rich, too? If you do, the George family could finally be something. If you keep it all to yourself, that’s just plain selfish,” someone piped up.

“Isabella, I want to be a manager,” her cousin announced, sounding completely serious. “Just give me the job. I don’t need a huge salary, maybe five or six thousand a month is fine. And since I don’t have a car, you’ll need to get me one. Cover my gas, tolls, and phone bill every month, too.”

“Isabella, I want to be a manager, too! One more manager won’t hurt, right? Just set me up with the same deal,” another cousin added, not wanting to be left out.

Pretty soon, her cousins and even her older male relatives were all chiming in, each demanding a manager’s title, a company car, and for Isabella to pick up all their expenses.

Peter spoke up next, looking way too proud of himself. “Isabella, I heard you got a huge chunk of money in your divorce from Ethan. There’s no way you can spend it all by yourself. And your mom got divorced, too. I heard she got a pretty nice payout.”

“Everyone here today is your uncle or aunt, your blood relatives. All you have to do is buy each of them a house. That’s not too much to ask, is it?”

“Housing prices are way down right now. A nice apartment is just a little over a million. If you buy each of us a place, it won’t even make a dent in your fortune. We’re getting older. Forget about cars or jobs, just give us a place to live,” another chimed in.

She quietly started recording the conversation on her phone, wanting to capture every ridiculous request they made.

Seeing Isabella’s calm reaction, the George family figured she was about to give in. In their minds, Isabella and her mom were fools. They’d married into money and didn’t even know how to keep it. Men fooling around was normal. As long as the money kept coming, who cared? But these two had to go and get divorced. Even if they walked away with some cash, it was nothing compared to what the Lane and Adams families were really worth. For a guy like Ethan, what Isabella got was just pocket change.

Honestly, if the mother and daughter hadn’t divorced, the family wouldn’t have dared come begging like this. Mr. Adams was scary. He’d warned them not to bother Isabella and threatened to ruin their seafood restaurant if they did. Right now, that restaurant was their only source of income. Business wasn’t exactly booming, but at least they owned the building, so there was no rent. Whatever they managed to squeeze out of their customers went straight into their pockets.
