After I Stopped Loving Him novel Chapter 1048

“How are you feeling about all this?” Isabella asked, her tone casual but eyes full of meaning. “You know how Dylan gets when he sees a pretty woman. His whole face changes.”

Linda laughed. “It’s not the same with everyone though. The way he looks at Sophia, you’d think he was staring at a lost cause. But somehow, he still manages to act caring and gentle. No wonder Sophia fell for him so hard. She actually believes she’ll never marry anyone else.”

“Her mom and brother were furious about it. They ended up sending her overseas to study, just to get her away from Dylan. Maybe some distance will help her snap out of it, but who knows.”

“When it comes to background, Dylan is totally Sophia’s equal. But he’s what, more than ten years older? And he changes girlfriends like he changes his shirts. He’s always saying he’ll never get married. He’s really not ideal husband material.”

“Even if he ever changed his mind about marriage and children, there’s no way he’d choose someone as naive as Sophia.”

Isabella glanced at Linda, making sure her message was sinking in. Dylan wasn’t a good match for anyone serious.

Still, there was no denying the way Dylan looked at Linda. There was something different in his eyes—real admiration and a spark of interest.

Dylan always told everyone he was a lifelong bachelor, only interested in dating, never in settling down. None of the women he’d dated ever got pregnant. He always made sure that didn’t happen. It wasn’t that he couldn’t commit. He just hadn’t met a woman who made him want to stop playing the field.

Isabella honestly thought that if Dylan ever got married, it would be to someone like Linda. Outgoing, confident, and totally his equal.

“Her choices are her own. None of that has anything to do with me. I’m just telling you this as gossip. The only thing that matters is that you don’t let Dylan play you.”

The truth was, Dylan really did like and admire Linda, maybe more than he’d ever admit. But chasing after her? He wouldn’t dare. Not just because he knew Linda would never go for a guy like him, but also because of her family.

Linda had more than a dozen brothers. If Dylan so much as looked at her the wrong way, her brothers alone would be enough to keep him in check. Her uncles and older relatives wouldn’t even have to get involved.

Linda just grinned. “As if I’d let him fool me. I’m not even remotely interested. Honestly, standing next to my brothers, his so-called good looks are nothing special. And money? Please. I’ve got my own. People chase after him for his wealth, but I’ve got beauty, money, status—everything he has. Why would I ever settle for a guy like him?”
