After I Stopped Loving Him novel Chapter 586

Isabella dragged Sophia outside, pulling her all the way to the car. Only once they were far from the crowd did she finally let go.

Sophia had struggled the whole way, but Isabella didn’t loosen her grip. By the time she was free, Sophia’s wrist was already turning red. She shook out her hand, saw the angry marks, and immediately raised her arm, ready to slap Isabella across the face.

Before she could make contact, a large hand appeared out of nowhere and caught her wrist.

“Ethan?”

It was Ethan. He had been inside the café, helping Isabella greet her special guests. The moment Cynthia started asking questions, he guessed Sophia was up to something and rushed out to check.

“If you’re here to celebrate, then act like it. If you’re here to cause trouble, go home,” Ethan said, his voice serious. “Look at what you’ve done. You were really about to hit Isabella? Mom sent you to etiquette classes. What happened to everything you learned? You’re supposed to be a lady, but you don’t act like one at all.”

Mentally, he decided he needed to talk to the family about getting stricter with Sophia. She was way too spoiled, and it was making her reckless.

That stunt she pulled with the bookshelf… if it had actually fallen and hurt someone, Isabella’s bookstore would have had a disaster on its very first day. Bad luck aside, Isabella would have to pay for damages. Sophia was clearly just trying to stir up drama.

“Ethan, she hurt my hand first. Look, my wrist is all red. She dragged me out like I was nothing, in front of everyone. Am I supposed to have no dignity?”

“Ethan, you’re just in time. Make her apologize. She hurt me and embarrassed me in public. She owes me for emotional damages.”

“And I’m not even asking for much. Just a million or two would be enough.”

Isabella let out a short laugh. “Why don’t you just go rob a bank? Apologize to you? Please. You’re not even worth that. Sophia, if you leave now, I’ll let this slide for Grandma’s sake.”

“If it wasn’t for you, would she have any of this? Would she have money to open a shop, run a business, be a boss? She used to make a couple thousand a month, if that.”

“Enough!” Ethan’s face was dark as he stared her down. His voice was low, almost a growl, and Sophia finally went quiet.

“My life is none of your business. Leave. Now.”

He slammed the car door shut.

Sophia’s eyes filled with angry tears. Ethan had yelled at her, all because of Isabella. He actually told her to leave. He had never treated her like this before. She blamed Isabella for all of it.

Shooting Isabella a look full of hate, Sophia started the car and sped away.
