After I Stopped Loving Him novel Chapter 602

Harold motioned for Isabella to sit on the sofa, then headed to the kitchen to get her a glass of warm water.

He was about to start washing some fruit when Isabella called out to him.

“Harold, don’t bother with the fruit. I’m just here to drop off your medicine. I’ll be heading out soon.”

Harold smiled as he came back. “Alright, if you’re not staying, I won’t bother.”

He took a seat across from her.

“Do you want to put on the medicine first?” Isabella asked. “It might be better before you eat your porridge.”

Harold took the bag from her, opened it, and pulled out a small bottle of medicated oil. “I’d rather eat first. If I use this now, the smell will ruin my appetite.”

“Fair enough.”

Harold set the bottle aside.

Isabella was already opening her other bag, peeling off the lid from a disposable bowl. She handed it to Harold. “I wasn’t sure what kind of porridge you like, so I just got you pork and rice porridge.”

She had ordered a vegetable one for herself.

“I’m not picky,” Harold said, taking the bowl. “It’s been ages since I’ve had porridge. This looks good. I bet it tastes great.”

A marriage with no love wasn’t worth anything to her, no matter how comfortable the life was. If he thought handing her a few hundred million would make up for it, fine, he could give her even more. She didn’t mind having extra money. It just wasn’t what she wanted.

Harold almost said that, honestly, he knew Ethan too well for that. He was sure Ethan wasn’t just trying to make it up to her. There were real feelings there, even if Ethan wouldn’t admit it. Still, Harold kept quiet. He liked Isabella himself and was hoping she and Ethan would finally get divorced so he could pursue her openly. He wasn’t about to help his rival out.

“His feelings for Natalie are too deep. He won’t let go of her easily,” Harold said instead. “It’s good you’re getting divorced. You shouldn’t spend your whole life in a marriage with no love.”

“Divorce is the only way I’ll survive,” Isabella joked, but when Harold looked confused, she quickly added, “I mean, Ethan’s got so many admirers. They’re always looking for a chance to come after me. I’m not scared of them, but there are so many. No matter how careful I am, there’s always a chance I’ll slip up. It’s just not worth it.”

Harold grinned. “There are a lot of women who like Ethan, but he’s never given any of them a chance. You’ve known him for twenty years. Have you ever heard a single rumor about him?”
