Jordan grinned. “The three of us grew up together. We have a bond nobody else could possibly get. I trust my wife. She’d never betray me.”
Malvina laughed too. “You and Natalie are seriously couple goals. I’ll send you my location. Come take me out for dinner.”
“Sure,” Jordan said without hesitation.
Malvina sent the address right away. Jordan didn’t even bother taking his suitcase upstairs. He just grabbed his keys and left, driving himself. None of the staff asked any questions. They knew better.

Meanwhile, at the hospital, Ethan had been brought in and treated. He slept for hours, only waking up in the evening.
When he opened his eyes and saw Natalie sitting by his bed, he felt his heart sink a little.
He remembered everything from before he blacked out. Isabella had brought him to the hospital. His mom and Sophia showed up later. So why was Natalie the one waiting for him when he woke up?
“Ethan, you’re awake!” Natalie sounded relieved, her face full of genuine concern. “How are you feeling? Do you want some water? Are you hungry?”
Ethan’s voice was flat. “Where’s Isabella?”
Natalie hesitated for a second, then said, “She said she had something to take care of, so she left. Your mom and Sophia went out to get dinner. They’ll come back and switch with me after they eat.”
The thought of Isabella just dropping him off and leaving stung more than he expected.
It all made sense now. There had been something wrong with that coffee.
Ethan’s voice was icy. “I’m going to find out the truth. I’m not accusing her for no reason. Isabella’s café has security cameras everywhere. If Sophia did it, it’ll be on the footage.”
“Seriously, there are cameras everywhere now. Did she really think she’d get away with it?”
“And she kept pushing Isabella to drink that coffee. I ended up drinking it, and look what happened. Anyone could figure out who did it. Sophia was being reckless.”
This was a coffee shop, not some dark bar where things could get covered up. It would be easy to check what happened.
He just hoped Isabella wouldn’t take it to the police. If she did, Sophia was in real trouble this time.
“How could Sophia do something like this?” Natalie said quietly. “Even if she doesn’t like Isabella, going this far is just too much.”
