I couldn’t help but smirk as I watched the omega standing there, utterly ficking mortified.

Elsa Hale-Drake Stone’s little pet assistant with her disheveled hair, swollen lips, and neck covered in fresh marks. The scent of sex clung to

her like a goddamn billboard advertisement. Pathetic. Yet somehow fascinating.

My wolf stirred inside me, appreciating the raw honesty of her state-at least she wasn’t pretending to be something she wasn’t, unlike some

people in this room.

“Miss Lumin,” she said, voice admirably steady despite her humiliation. “I apologize for our new intern’s accident with your dress. Stone

Industries will cover the full cost of cleaning or replacement.”

I arched an eyebrow, a surge of irritation mixed with amusement rushing through me. “The company will pay? Not the person responsible?” I

flicked my gaze toward that simpering girl still clutching Drake’s arm like fucking lifeline. “Isn’t that interesting? Why should a corporation

pay for the mistakes of Drake’s little plaything?”

The girl-Vera-finally detached herself from Drake and stepped forward with that ridiculous submissive posture. My stomach turned at the

display.

“This was my fault,” she said in that soft, calculated voice that made me want to gag. “I should bear the consequences. It wouldn’t be right for

anyone else to suffer for my clumsiness.”

I nearly rolled my eyes at her performance. Jesus Christ, give her a fucking Oscar. She was good, I’d give her that. But the flash of resentment in her eyes when she looked at Elsa told me everything I needed to know about this two-faced bitch.

“Miss Hale was merely trying to help,” Vera continued, her voice dripping With false humility. “By making her apologize on my behalf, you’re forcing a high-ranking employee to debase herself before the Moon Shadow pack for a mistake she didn’t commit.”

Clever move, you manipulative cunt. She’d just twisted the situation to make it seem like Elsa was looking down on our pack. I felt my blood boil, my wolf snarling beneath my skin. Not at Elsa, but at this calculating little schemer who’d nearly gotten people killed at the factory-oh

yes, I knew all about that shit. My brother makes it his business to know everything about Stone Industries, which means I do too.

‘Let’s discuss compensation then,’ I said, savoring the bitter taste of the game we were playing. “This dress is pure silver-infused silk, a Moon

Shadow specialty. Value? Fifty thousand dollars.”

Vera’s face paled beautifully. “I-I don’t have that kind of money available

“No?’ I feigned sympathy, though my voice dripped with venom. Perhaps ou could arrange a payment plan? How much does a Black Obsidian

intern make these days? Basic rations plus a small stipend, isn’t it?”

I heard snickers from my pack members. Even some Black Obsidian wolve looked embarrassed. Fucking perfect.

“How embarrassing, I made sure my voice carried across the entire goddan room Drake Stone’s potential Luna can’t even afford to replace à

dress. What a joke.”

Vera’s scent shifted from fake submission to genuine humiliation and rage the sweet smell of her distress filling my nostrils like a delicious

perfume. That’s right, sweetheart. Show your true colors. Let everyone see what a fraud you really are.

‘I could arrange monthly payments- she stammered, her voice cracking.

Drake finally stepped forward, his alpha presence filling the room. His eyes flickered gold-a primitive display meant to intimidate. My wolf

rose to meet the challenge, though I kept my exterior calm.

I’ll cover the cost,” he said tersely, reaching for his wallet like the rich asshole he was.

I held up my hand, my heart racing with the thrill of power. “I don’t want our money, Mr.Stone.” A new, deliciously cruel idea formed in my

mind as I looked at Elsa, noticing her injured ankle. The ankle that had been hurt during Vera’s little sabotage attempt.

“You know what? I’ve changed my mind completely.”
