Aurora walked up to Megan. "Come on, the crew’s got the day off. Let’s go grab something good to eat."
Megan blinked in surprise. She glanced back and accidentally met the director’s eyes.
Awkwardly, she nodded a polite greeting, which the director returned with little concern.
After all, he usually discussed work directly with Aurora.
He didn’t know much about Megan, only that she seemed dependable and quiet.
Still, he couldn’t help wondering why she always acted so nervous around him, like a mouse spotting a cat.
Was he really that intimidating?
He rubbed his face in confusion. He didn’t think so.
Meanwhile, Megan pulled Aurora aside and whispered, "So? What did the director say?"
"The situation’s not great," Aurora sighed, shaking her head. "Right now, the most urgent thing is finding someone who can take the judge’s spot. If this drags on any longer, it’ll hurt the show."
"I know, but if even the director can’t figure it out, what can we really do?" Megan said, frowning.
Besides, her cousin wasn’t even in the film industry. Would he really know the right person for the job?
Aurora understood her hesitation, but she also believed they had to at least ask Lucas’ opinion first.
"It’s fine. We’ve got the day off anyway. I’ll talk to Lucas tonight. If everything goes well, we’ll have an answer by tomorrow morning."
Then she smiled at Megan. "Do you want to join us for dinner?"
"Huh? Lucas is going too?"
"Of course. We’re asking for his help. He’ll definitely be there."
Hearing that, Megan quickly waved her hands. "Better not. I’ll skip dinner this time."
Her smile was a little awkward. "If that’s the case, I’d rather meet up with a friend, grab something to eat, and head home early."
Megan huffed and pouted. "I don’t care. Your safety matters to me."
"Got it, my little housekeeper," Aurora said with a laugh.
The two parted ways.
Watching Megan’s figure disappear, Aurora pulled out her phone and typed a message to Lucas.
[Are you at the villa right now?]
[If so, should I come over?]
When the message came in, Lucas was in the middle of work.
He hadn’t paid much attention at first, but the distinctive notification tone told him exactly who it was from.
He paused the meeting immediately, picked up his phone, and upon reading her message, instantly knew she was planning to come find him.
