Aurora Walton and Lucas Carter novel Chapter 1668

[Yeah, I’m at the villa. You can come anytime.]

Lucas typed fast, his fingers moving fluidly across the screen. Within seconds, the message was sent.

On the other end of the video call, the executives all exchanged looks.

It was the first time they’d ever seen Lucas with such a gentle expression. Normally, he was the kind of man who could spot flaws in perfection, dissecting every detail of their work with sharp precision.

Usually, his gaze was cold, his presence overwhelming.

No one dared meet his eyes for too long.

But now, that same gaze was soft, warm even.

Even through the screen, they could feel that he was in an unusually good mood.

It hit them all at once.

Lucas actually had a gentle side.

He just never showed it to them.

No one dared interrupt. They simply watched as he finished typing his message before seamlessly returning to the meeting.

The transition was flawless.

Everyone silently marveled.

This was what true leadership looked like.

To juggle work and romance without missing a beat, and to handle both so effortlessly.

Who wouldn’t envy a man like that?

When Lucas looked back up, he noticed the distracted expressions across the screen.

Clearly, none of them were paying attention to the actual discussion.

Lucas tapped his fingers lightly against the desk, his tone sharp. “What are you all thinking about? We’re still in a meeting.”

That was all that mattered.

Later that evening, when Aurora arrived, the table was already set.

Every dish one of her favorites.

Her eyes lit up in surprise. “You cooked again?”

Lucas’ lips curved into a faint smile. “I had some free time, so I figured I’d make dinner for you.”

He gestured toward the table. “Besides, I was waiting anyway. Might as well make something you like.”

Her smile deepened, eyes gleaming with warmth. “I don’t even need to look. I know it’s all my favorites.”

Lucas chuckled softly. “Oh? And how do you know I’ve got your taste figured out that well?”

Aurora met his gaze with a playful glint. “If you still didn’t by now, then we’ve wasted all those nights sharing the same bed.”
