Yvonne had assumed it was one of the clueless house staff.
“Yvonne, you don’t even recognize your own mother now?”
At that voice, she finally turned around. A glance at the time showed it was already nine at night.
What was Michelle doing here instead of resting?
“Mom, why are you here?”
The moment she opened the door, she asked the question outright.
Michelle tapped her daughter’s nose with clear irritation.
She repeated exactly what had just happened. “What do you think I’m here for?”
“I don’t know,” Yvonne replied, deliberately going against her.
If not for her parents, she wouldn’t have returned at all.
Her family could’ve stepped in and solved the issues with the studio instantly.
But they insisted on making their daughter bow her head. The more she thought about it, the more it bothered her.
Everyone on the outside thought she lived a glamorous life.
But only Yvonne knew how much she sacrificed to maintain that image.
Michelle went straight to the point. “You say you didn’t know? I think you did it on purpose.
“I heard everything you said about Aurora just now. If an outsider heard those words, if they reached Lucas, do you think the Song family would still have peace?”
Yvonne’s expression tightened for a moment.
