Aurora Walton and Lucas Carter novel Chapter 1715

He couldn’t explain how the clear judgment he’d had at the start had suddenly deserted him.

“Do you want me to drive you?”

Yvonne thought about it and decided it made sense.

She’d only taken a cab here, after all, trying to keep her movements hidden from her parents.

“Alright, take me to the studio.”

For some reason, that made Joseph oddly pleased.

The atmosphere in the car was surprisingly comfortable as they rode together.

After Yvonne handled a few matters at the studio, they went their separate ways.

Unexpectedly, Joseph felt a faint reluctance when she stepped out.

She, however, kept her tone firm. “Don’t forget what you promised me.”

“Relax. This is a deal between us. I won’t forget.”

She lifted her phone and gave it a small shake.

“I’ll assign things to you later. Make sure you do them.”

Her tone turned serious.

She hadn’t brought Joseph in to stand around as decoration; she had a goal in mind.

If he couldn’t help her deal with Aurora, then what use would he be?

And she knew exactly what she wanted.

So much time had passed, and she still didn’t know what Edwin was thinking now.

She’d already hung up on him.

He’d definitely given up by now.

Her attitude couldn’t have been clearer.

Joseph stood there, watching her drift off in her thoughts. He had no idea what she was thinking about, so he finally said softly, “Alright, I’ll get going then.”

Yvonne simply nodded, unsurprised, and turned toward her studio.
