“Anyway, everything I said is true. I’ve already explained all the pros and cons to you. If you want to stay, that’s fine too.”
Aurora spoke seriously. “Either way, I’m staying with Megan. She’s been here with me for so long and hasn’t had the chance to enjoy herself. I’d feel guilty if I didn’t keep her company.”
“Sure, no problem.”
Aurora didn’t react at first.
She had prepared a whole list of arguments, yet Lucas agreed so easily.
“You mean… you’re agreeing with me, right?”
“Mm-hm.”
Lucas nodded without objection.
He never planned to refuse her anyway. And Megan had known Aurora far longer than he had.
It wouldn’t feel right for him to stand in the way.
Megan even knew Aurora earlier than he did; they had years of history together.
If he forced himself into the middle, what would that make him?
If he imagined himself in Megan’s place, he wouldn’t feel great either.
But the fact that Aurora came to ask for his opinion meant she had already placed him in an important position.
Knowing that alone was enough for him.
He even felt that her willingness to check with him was already more than he expected.
“It’s fine. You two can go out and have fun. I can handle my work online.”
Lucas gave way without hesitation.
But Aurora still felt a little guilty.
