It was a choice she made after careful thought, and there was nothing left to hesitate over.
Yvonne had sorted everything out in her mind, which was why handing her influence over to Joseph wasn’t as simple as it sounded.
“You know I thought about it for a long time before giving you my contacts overseas.”
Joseph didn’t expect her to be this frank.
“Of course I understand what you mean.”
“If you understand, then what are you going to do?”
As she spoke, Yvonne stared straight at Joseph without blinking.
She wanted to know exactly where he stood, especially when she had already spelled everything out so clearly.
If he still didn’t understand, then there was nothing more she could do.
If someone refused help, there was no point holding on; letting go was always an option.
“I understand what you mean, so I’ll value this opportunity even more.”
“Other than what you’ve said, what more is there?”
Yvonne fixed her gaze on Joseph, waiting for him to say something that would reassure her.
If he wasn’t willing to say it, then why should she feel safe handing all her overseas resources to him?
An old saying went that once a person was chosen, they should be trusted and anyone who couldn’t be trusted shouldn’t be chosen in the first place.
Yvonne chose to take the first step and trust Joseph, instead of waiting for him to take it.
“You need to know that giving you this influence was a decision I made after serious consideration. While I’m trusting you, I hope you can trust me too.”
In the end, Yvonne spoke slowly and clearly. “I hope you won’t disappoint the trust I’m placing in you.”
