Before leaving, she told Evelyn, “Let me know if you need anything. I’ll help if I can.”
Evelyn just waved her off.

With Edmund’s help, Isabel was out of the lab in no time.
The food had gotten cold, so she took Edmund out to eat first.
Only then did she take the X-1 to the hospital.
Adrian was still in the ICU.
A group of specialists were conferring by the door.
When Daniel saw her, he immediately rushed over. “Did you make it?”
Isabel nodded.
Daniel immediately arranged for her to enter the ICU.
But Isabel didn’t go in. “It doesn’t require any special skill. Just have a doctor go in and give it to him.”
Daniel didn’t insist. He took the X-1 and explained it to the attending physician.
The attending physician had just been telling the other specialists that if they had X-1, the patient's recovery would be much faster.
He never expected it to arrive just like that.
Isabel had upgraded the drug, but her unsteady right hand had led to constant failures.
The original X-1 was designed for cancer, and the previous Y-2 upgrade wasn't potent enough to repair Adrian's condition.
She had integrated and upgraded the formula.
After watching the doctor administer the dose to Adrian, she told Daniel, “We’re heading back to Westbridge. I have things to do. He’ll be fine now that he’s taken it.”
This incident had helped finalize the upgrade's parameters.
Edmund’s hand had also become much steadier. She needed to get back and have a serious talk with Felix Lane and the others.
Daniel hesitated. “Perhaps you could wait until he wakes up…”
“He’ll be fine.”
With that, Isabel left with Edmund and Evelyn.
Daniel couldn't stop them.
But just as they left, Adrian woke up.
The attending physician ran some tests and marveled at the miraculous effects of X-1.
He asked Daniel, “Is it possible for me to contact that professor?”
Daniel politely declined. “She’s very busy at the moment. Perhaps another time. You might be able to meet her at one of her press conferences or symposiums.”
