Blizzard First Love and a Wife Who Finally Snaps novel Chapter 456

Isabel asked, "How's Daniel?"

Dr. Lawson shook his head. "He's still in surgery. I'm done with my part, but doctors from other departments are still working on him. His condition is not good. He was driving, so he was a little slower to escape than Mr. Blackwell."

Isabel took a pill from her purse. "Please give him this."

Dr. Lawson took the pill and went back inside. Isabel followed the others to Adrian's room.

She checked Adrian's pulse and looked at his test results.

He didn't need her medicine for now.

Even if he did, she would have to formulate a new one based on his current condition.

"Isabel." Seeing that things were stable, Alexander Blackwell said, "I have some things to take care of, so I'll leave Adrian in your hands."

Catherine followed up, "You two aren't divorced yet. Since you were able to sign for him, you should be the one to stay and take care of him."

With that, she dragged Alexander away without waiting for Isabel's response.

"Don't think I don't know what you're up to," Alexander said once they were gone.

Catherine was pleased. "It's not like I'm the one who broke up Isabel and Julian. I'm just going with the flow."

Alexander couldn't really argue with that.

Whatever happened between Isabel and Adrian was their business. He wouldn't interfere, either to help them or to keep them apart.

Oliver circled Adrian's bed, then asked Isabel, "Mom, is Dad going to be okay?"

"He looks like a mummy."

Evelyn burst out laughing, almost choking on a bite of apple. "You're really something else, nephew. You even know what a mummy is."

"I saw one on my phone," Oliver said.

"He's not in any serious danger. These injuries will just take some time to heal," Isabel explained. She then turned to Evelyn. "After you eat, you can take Oliver home."

"You're going to stay here and take care of him?" Evelyn asked.
