Henry had just arrived from out of town and was at Adrian's room.

Henry thanked him, then turned to Adrian. "This has really been a disastrous year for you."

"I hear it was Stephen Hayes. Makes sense. You backed him into a corner, so he got desperate."

Adrian struggled to speak. "Go... the herbs."

Henry had almost forgotten. "Alright, you rest. I'll be back after I drop them off."

Adrian closed his eyes.

Henry moved quickly, delivering the herbs to Isabel and telling her that Adrian was awake.

Isabel nodded. "I know."

Henry hesitated for a moment before adding, "Isabel, Adrian didn't go with you to finalize the divorce today, not because he broke his promise. It was because of Stephen Hayes. Adrian has been dealing with what Helen did ever since he got back. He played cat and mouse with him for a bit, and Hayes got desperate. After all, he couldn't get to him in the hospital, so he had to wait for him to leave."

Isabel had more or less figured that out.

Adrian had always been ruthless.
