Breaking Point of Divorce (Hugh and Bethan) novel Chapter 452

Chapter 452 Hostile

Bethan tugged at Gwen's arm, and they were about to leave when Megan called out, "Ms. Cavill, hold on!"

Gwen stopped, and Bethan also turned around.

Megan stepped up, took off her mask, and after sizing Bethan up for a few moments, she shifted her eyes to Gwen.

"Ms. Cavill, I don't recall ever offending you. Why are you always so hostile towards me?"

Gwen let out a sigh and replied haughtily, "It's not me. It's Hugh who has issues with you. Figure it out."

Megan's eyes wavered. Softening her tone, she pleaded, "Ms. Cavill, there's been a misunderstanding between your brother and me. Could you set up a meeting for us?"

Gwen scoffed, "In your dreams."

Fuming, Megan pushed past them.

Bethan and Gwen were just about to leave when Alina got out of the car.

Bethan didn't have any strong feelings about Alina, neither good nor bad.

Alina spotted Gwen and greeted her. "Hello, Ms. Cavill."

Before she could say more, Megan rushed up and landed a hard slap on Alina. "Bitch!"

The sharp sound of the slap and the curse left everyone stunned.

Bethan quickly pulled Gwen back a few feet. Gwen was terrified and clung tightly to Bethan's arm.

Megan must be out of her mind to hit Alina!

Alina quickly regained her composure and whacked Megan on the head with her designer handbag.

Angrily, she demanded, "Who do you think you are to hit me?"

She stared at Megan, still having no clue who this woman was.

Megan's shrill voice cut through the air. "Hey, slut! Open those peepers of yours and take a good look at who the hell I am!"

She'd once caught a glimpse of this woman in a wedding photo with Hugh on his computer.

So this was the one, Hugh's supposed fiancée, the scheming witch who'd used Nola and Jasper to bait her back home.

Megan was certain she'd recognize that face anywhere, even in the afterlife.

Meanwhile, Alina sized up Megan with her shrewd eyes, zeroing in on the disfigured features.

"Don't care who you are. You laid a hand on me, and you're going nowhere."

Megan took a menacing step forward, her tone dripping with challenge. "Go on and tell Hugh. Let him know it was me, Megan, who smacked you around."

Alina was utterly bewildered.

"Well, you're the one who used my family to trick me back. You messed with Hugh's head and made him think badly of me. I saw you two in that wedding photo on his computer. Your face is burned in my memory. No point denying it."

At her wits' end, Alina pointed at Megan again. "I'm going to Hugh to get to the bottom of this. You just stay put."

With that, she turned on her heel, hopped into her car, and sped off.

Megan yelled after her, "Alina, you're gonna regret this!"

Then she took off in a hurry.

A short distance away, Bethan and Gwen stood there, looking completely lost.

Gwen couldn't help but give a thumbs-up in the direction Megan had disappeared. "I've never seen a woman this crazy in my life," she exclaimed.

Bethan let out a sigh and tugged on Gwen's arm.

Hugh, having all the memories from his past, was over Megan ages ago.

And Megan was just digging herself a deeper hole.

The pair then made their way into a pre-reserved restaurant.

Gwen plopped her bag down, took a seat, and started eying the menu. "Bethan, what do you want to eat?"

Bethan, still reeling from the drama, replied, "I'm not fussy."

As they waited for the food, Gwen leaned in, excitement written all over her face. "Bethan, you won't believe it. While you were away, Hugh tossed Megan in jail twice!"
