When the kindergarten staff saw Natalie arrive, they immediately let her in. After all, the Cross family had given instructions that Natalie was now allowed to see Hanley.
Natalie was surprised, but she didn’t have time to dwell on it.
The staff were also quite puzzled. Why were they suddenly willing to let Natalie see Hanley? Was a reconciliation in the works?
But it wasn’t their place to ask.
The teacher saw Natalie and called out.
“Ms. Ward, thank you for coming. Hanley got into a fight at school, which is why we called you.”
Natalie found it amusing. Previously, the kindergarten wouldn’t even let her in, saying the Cross family had forbidden her from approaching Hanley. Why were they so eager to let her in now?
“Excuse me, I’m here on behalf of Lucas and Liana to handle this matter. As for Hanley, you should call his father. After all, his father and I are divorced.”
The teacher felt extremely awkward and said, “But Hanley’s father said he’s very busy today and told us to contact you.”
Natalie was speechless. Darren was busy?
Did being busy mean he didn’t have to show up? Did being busy mean he could just push this onto her? Did he think she was his assistant? If he found his child to be such a bother, why did he fight for custody in the first place? He had even forbidden her from seeing Hanley back then.
Natalie let out a cold laugh. The Cross family was truly ridiculous. When they got divorced, they rushed to tell the kindergarten not to let her near the child. Now they were deliberately telling the school to call her. What were they trying to do? If they thought this would make her want to get back with him, they were dreaming.
“I don’t care what the Cross family says. We are divorced, and Darren has custody of the child. I don’t want to overstep my bounds. You should call his father and have him come deal with it.”
