Cold Husband Burning Regret: The Divorce He Couldn't Handle novel Chapter 569

Charlotte lifted her chin, her tone full of unearned confidence. "That's right."

The smile in his eyes deepened. "Alright."

But as they drove, Charlotte began to regret her words. Why did I have to say I wanted him to cook? she thought. It's like I served myself up on a silver platter.

No. The plan was to eat and leave immediately. She was absolutely not staying the night.

From the corner of his eye, Evander saw her conflicted expression. The corner of his mouth tilted up; he had no intention of letting her back out now.

When they arrived at his hotel suite, Charlotte followed him inside but stopped in the entryway. "Do you even have food in your kitchen?"

Evander took off his trench coat, hung it up, and unfastened his cufflinks. "I have everything."

"Then you can make whatever. I'll eat anything." Charlotte walked into the spacious living room, dropped her bag on the sofa, and gazed out the floor-to-ceiling windows. The view was breathtaking, encompassing everything from towering skyscrapers to the distant suburban hills.

Evander went to the kitchen, took off his watch, and efficiently opened the built-in refrigerator. It was fully stocked with fresh organic vegetables, top-grade Wagyu beef, and more—clearly, he had prepared in advance.

Charlotte glanced over at the man in the kitchen, a triumphant little smile playing on her lips. A man should be put to work.

The sound of running water and the soft chop of a knife soon filled the air. Evander moved with a practiced, elegant grace.

It wasn't the first time she had seen him cook, but in the past, her view of him had always been colored by Tricia's story. Back then, her own unrequited feelings had left her in a state of pity and misery, with no room to appreciate the sight of this man in a kitchen.

This time, however, it was the same man but a completely different situation, a completely different feeling.

When Evander looked up, she quickly tore her gaze away, refocusing on the city lights outside.

After Evander brought dinner to the table, Charlotte walked over. He had made fried rice with diced beef and pineapple, along with a cream of mushroom soup, all artfully plated.

The warm, dim lighting, combined with the exquisite meal and the stunning night view, created an undeniably romantic atmosphere.

"My queen, your seat awaits."

Evander pulled out her chair for her.
