Cold Husband Burning Regret: The Divorce He Couldn't Handle novel Chapter 607

"Who's there!" Shane's head snapped in her direction.

Charlotte took a deep breath, about to step out, when she saw Loretta emerge from another direction. She froze.

Loretta stood there, staring blankly at Shane and Quincy, her face draining of color. Her voice was hoarse. "Un… Uncle Shane, is it true? What you were saying… My mother… you were the ones who hurt her?" She ended on a question, unable to believe what she'd just heard.

Shane stared back, stunned into silence.

Quincy burst into manic laughter, pointing first at Shane, then at himself. "Hahaha… Hahahaha! I'm not as good as Caleb and Sean? I was used by you? And now?" He then jabbed a finger toward Loretta. "Your beloved niece is questioning you! Go on, Shane, do you dare answer her? Do you dare tell her you were the mastermind behind her mother's death?"

Loretta's gaze remained fixed on Shane. When the silence stretched on, she knew. It was all true. Tears instantly streamed down her face as she remembered Shane's words from the other day: I just hope you won't hold a grudge against me later.

But how could she not? That was her mother!

Loretta broke down, sobbing as she turned and ran.

Shane snapped back to reality, her face turning cold. "Stop her!" As a bodyguard moved to chase Loretta, Charlotte rushed out. "Shane, you're not going to hurt Loretta too, are you?"

"So you were here as well." A look of realization dawned on Shane's face. "It must have been your idea for her to go to my room. I suppose you know everything."

Charlotte stood protectively in front of Loretta. "What I know doesn't matter. What matters is what you've done. If this is about revenge, you shouldn't drag innocent people into it!"

"Revenge?" Quincy paused, staring at Shane. "What are you getting revenge for?"
